Gifts of the Darkness – Volume Two

We’re back and bringing you five more dark gifts this month! Whether you wrap these into your background or pick them up in your adventures, these dark gifts will help tie your characters more tightly to the lands of Ravenloft and the darkness that pervades them.

Warped Images
You cannot see your own reflection in the mirror or a pond the way you used to anymore. Many mistake you for
a vampire or another creature of the night when they see your distorted shape and you have learned to avoid
reflective surfaces. Sometimes, you can extend these distortions to directly manipulate the perception of others.
Roll on or choose an option from the Warped Image table to determine in what way perception of your likeness is warped. Additionally, you gain the traits that follow.

| 1 | Your reflection wavers and breaks, as if seen in unsteady waters. |
| 2 | Your reflection is just a dark shadow, without any discernible features at all. |
| 3 | Your reflection is normal, except that your face lacks all features—no eyes, mouth, or nose. |
| 4 | Your reflection looks grainy and seems to lack finer details. It continuously flickers as if seen through a sandstorm. |
| 5 | Your reflection randomly freezes and always lags behind your actual movements by a few seconds. |
| 6 | Your reflection distorts and contracts, making you alternately appear much wider or much thinner than you are. |
Shifting Image. You can cast the blur and the disguise self spells once each without requiring material components. You regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest.
Blend with the Shadows. When making a Dexterity (Stealth) check, you can treat a d20 roll of 9 or lower as a
10.
Nondescript. People often seem to have trouble focusing on you. You have disadvantage on Charisma (Intimidation), Charisma (Performance) and Charisma (Persuasion) checks. However, you have advantage on Charisma (Deception) checks.
